Hello everyone!

Did you have fun during NaStySumo?

Now that August is over, it's time to start thinking about what our next theme will be. We're proposing to have a theme every other month so we can always prepare our story a bit in advance. It also avoids conflicts with NaNoWriMo. ;)

Alyssa and I fooled around a bit on Twitter and came up with a few ideas for October's theme but we would really like to hear from you guys!

Here's what we have:

NaStyGoMo - Story of Gore (relatively limited, IMHO)

NaStyHorMo - Story of Horror (almost as weird a title as the alternative NaStyHoMo)

NaStyJaMo - Story of Jack-O-Lantern

NaStyGhoMo - Story of Ghost

To that I had another idea: NaStyMysMo - National Story of Mystery Month.

Then of course, there could be NaStyFriMo (fright) too.

The possibilities are endless! We need your help!

We can't do a NaStyGhoMo cuz that'll be Ryan's week.

We could have a NaStyHalMo (just straight up Halloween themes).  Or NaStySaMo (Samhain).

Although, I like NaStyGoMo.  Don't give me that look!

I must say I'm more drawn to NaStySaMo. *laughs* Who's surprised?

How about writing in the round for October?  It is the month of trick-or-treating, after all (well, for kids): of going around the neighborhood for candy, not sure what you're going to get...  So one of us could start a story, pass it to the next person, and so on until we've all written a bit of it.  We'd still need a topic... Anything to do with Halloween would be my vote.

Ooh, writing in the round sounds cool, never done that before. Halloween isn't really a big thing here in Aus. Kids don't even dress up or anything! I would have felt deprived when I was little, if my b-day wasn't in Oct as well, lucky for me. So doing something Halloween-y could be fun. Though I have no idea what Halloween themes might be...

That's the main problem with doing it with Halloween themes.  The US is really the only country that does it.  The whole dressing up and trick-or-treating thing.  And even though I love Halloween, I kinda didn't want to suggest it.  That's part of the reason why I offered one for Sahmain.

I was leaning towards Gore or Horror... I'll be honest, I had to Google Samhain, because I didn't know what it was, but it sounds intresting, so I'd be happy with that too...  I still don't have any good ideas to offer, nothing really October-y, sorry.

Personnally, I think writing in the round is a good idea but I won't have time for it in October. I've got a lot of writing to do to carve out the time for NaNo. ;)

I don't really feel like gore or horror.

So my vote goes to Samhain or Mystery (which can have an Halloweenish flavor).

We only have a few days left to make up our mind! ;)

Hmmm . . . perhaps we should plan ahead of time for a round, y'know?  So everybody can have a chance.  Lol we could do NaStySa/MysMo.  So you could do either/or, or even a combination!
