Ring, ring!

Leaning back in my Adirondack chair, I checked the Caller ID on my cell. “Hello, Tony. How are things at command central?” While listening to all the latest adventures of the Triumphant Ten, I take a sip of my margarita.

“She did what?” I laugh as Tony relates how our ninja took down her arch rival. “I can’t believe that she made a big enough bubble with her gum to contain, Beej. Please tell her that I am seriously impressed!”

A flapping of wings caught my attention and Tony’s voice became a drone in my ear. That is until he started yelling. “P.J.! Answer me right now. Are you in trouble?”

“Oh, sorry Tony,” I murmured. “I was just watching the loons settle in for the night.”

“Is it beautiful there? Tell me what you see,” he requested.

“Sure…let me see.” Curling up in my chair, I took at look around me and described it to him. “Dusk has fallen and I am sitting on the dock listening to nature change it's rhythms from day to night. The chipmunks are gathering the last of their food for the

day. I can hear the crickets, frogs and owls calling as well.”

My eyes dropped to the lake and I explained, “The water is still as glass and there is no one around. No one needs rescuing and there are no villains around to cause trouble.”

“It sounds amazing, P.J.” Tony’s voice had gone all mellow on me.

“Oh it is. I can’t find the words to express to you the peace I am feeling sitting here.”

From across the lake, a wolf started to sing, and I shut my eyes. “Thank you Tony, for suggesting that I take this holiday; I really needed it.”

With a dreamy smile on my face, I rested my chin on my raised knees. “I have taken lots of pictures so you all can see how beautiful it is up here.

“Okay, Tony, I’m going to run now and enjoy my last night. Please tell Suzanne that I will be packed and ready to go when she gets here tomorrow in her airship.”

“Have a fantastic night, P.J. and I’ll see you when you get back.” The line disconnected and I decided to watch the stars come out. One by one.

Ah ha! So that is where you have been all this time.

A lake vacation with margaritas! Nice. ;-)

I was wondering where my pixie comrad disappeared to!

Hi Guys, thanks for the response! I'm sorry to say that it was only a short vacation & that the real world took over everything before it. But it sure was nice while it lasted! The cottage was great & the dock even better!
